Klaus Kinski (October 18, 1926 – November 23, 1991) was a German actor renowned for his electrifying, unpredictable screen presence and volatile genius. A frequent collaborator with director Werner Herzog, Kinski delivered some of cinema's most haunting performances in films such as Nosferatu the Vampyre, Aguirre the Wrath of God, Fitzcarraldo, and Woyzeck. Equally at home in European exploitation cinema and prestige art films, Kinski's explosive intensity made every performance unmistakably his own. He remains one of the most magnetic and controversial actors in film history.
