Pam Grier (born May 26, 1949) is an American actress who became the definitive icon of 1970s blaxploitation cinema. Her breakthrough roles in Coffy, Foxy Brown, and Sheba, Baby established her as a fearless, charismatic action heroine at a time when such roles for women of color were virtually nonexistent. Grier's career spanned decades, culminating in a career-defining performance in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown (1997), which introduced her to a new generation of fans.
