A haunting found footage masterpiece from Mexico, 1974: La Posesión de Altair is the stunning debut feature from writer/director Victor Dryere. Shot entirely on Super 8 film, the film follows newlyweds Altair (Diana Bovio) and Manuel (Rolando Breme) whose lives are upended when Altair becomes convinced she is communicating with God - and begins exhibiting increasingly erratic and terrifying behavior.
Documented on 8mm film by her desperate husband, the tapes were later found after the couple's mysterious disappearance. A slow-burn, atmospheric horror experience steeped in religious dread, this is one of the most original found footage films in years.
