About the Film
Two scientists in an Arizona research station investigate ants that have developed a collective intelligence following a mysterious solar event. As the insects turn against animals and humans, the researchers face a threat to humanity's place in the natural world.
Directed by Saul Bass. Starring Nigel Davenport, Michael Murphy and Lynne Frederick.
Vinegar Syndrome's three-disc edition includes one 4K Ultra HD disc and two Region A Blu-rays. The 84-minute theatrical version appears on UHD and Blu-ray; the 89-minute preview version is on Blu-ray only. Restored in 4K from the 35mm original camera negative, with HDR on the UHD, a 1.85:1 presentation and English SDH subtitles.
Special features include a theatrical-version commentary by Matthew Asprey Gear, making-of and music documentaries, deleted material, raw footage from the original ending, a trailer, still gallery and reversible sleeve artwork.
