About the Film
Story of a Junkie (1985), originally titled Gringo, is Lech Kowalski's portrait of addiction and life on New York's Lower East Side. John Spacely plays a partly fictionalized version of himself in a film combining staged encounters with documentary observation.
Edition: Vinegar Syndrome Labs VSL-009 region-free Blu-ray with soundtrack CD. 79 minutes; 1.33:1; English mono with English SDH subtitles. Restored in 4K from the original 16mm camera negative.
